The annual match-up between next door neighbors highlights the second week of the high school football schedule in northeastern North Carolina and the Outer Banks.

Camden (1-0) at Currituck (0-1)

The Col. William C. Byrd, II Trophy, named for the Virginia-native who oversaw surveying of the border between the colonies of North Carolina and Virginia in 1728, has been the prize in this old rivalry since 2004.

Currituck has claimed the last two Byrd Bowl’s, including a 42-20 win at The Swamp last season.

The Bruins are coming off a resounding season-opening win over Pasquotank, while the Knights look to bounce back from a disappointing loss at Manteo.

Coverage of the Byrd Bowl starts at 7:15 p.m. on Classic Rock 104.9 and 92.3 and YourClassicRock.com.
