Most computers and the telephones at the Kill Devil Hills municipal offices were back online by late afternoon Monday, following an undisclosed failure earlier in the day.
According to an email from the Dare County Public Information Office, technical support staff were working diligently to correct the situation at the town’s offices as of 11 a.m.
Emergency calls via 911 for fire and police are handled through Dare County Central Communications, and were not impacted by the outage.
A town official would not comment on what caused the issue.
