Manteo waives late fees for residents affected by shutdown

The Town of Manteo is waiving all water and sewer late fees and penalties for customers affected by the federal government shutdown.

The shutdown, now in its 33rd day, has partially closed National Park Service sites on the Outer Banks and has Coast Guard members working without pay.

Manteo says customers should call the water and sewer department at 252-473-2133 with questions.
