Animal shelter manager out; interim leader to be appointed

The Outer Banks SPCA has announced that John Graves is no longer the director of the organization.

Here is the full statement:

Effective Thursday, May 30, 2019, John Graves, Director and Shelter Manager, has transitioned out of the organization. The Outer Banks SPCA will immediately begin a search for a Shelter Manager. An Interim Shelter Manager will be named as soon as possible.

As the organization continues ahead with a new shelter and new additional programs- we are committed to moving the OBSPCA forward and continuing to serve the animals of Dare County. Leadership changes at organizations are often very healthy and renewing. We have a passionate staff and community that will continue to provide exceptional care and loving homes to every animal. The Outer Banks SPCA is in an excellent position right now. The staff and volunteers are led by a committed Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, We would like to thank John for his contributions to the Outer Banks SPCA. We will be working to bring on a leader who will take this great organization to the next level.
