Jeff Malarney named chairman of N.C. Real Estate Commission

Jeffery J. Malarney was recently appointed chairman of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.

Formerly a commissioner of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, Malarney serves as general counsel for Twiddy & Co., a North Carolina vacation rental management firm, and is a principal of the Law Offices of Jeff Malarney, PLLC. He is also a licensed real estate broker and property insurance agent.

A retired commander of the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate Corps, he is a former special assistant United States attorney, past president of the North Carolina Vacation Rental Manager’s Association and past chairman of The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.

Malarney is an owner and also assisted in development of H2OBX Waterpark, a $50 million resort located in Currituck, North Carolina.

Malarney holds a JD from Wake Forest University School of Law and BA (cum laude) in Economics and Management from Albion College.

The North Carolina Real Estate Commission is responsible for the regulations of approximately 100,000 real estate firms and agents in the state.
