Actress Sonja Sohn arrested on drug charges

New details have emerged about the arrest of director and actress, Sonja Sohn (also known as Sonja Plack) who has starred in such popular TV series as The Wire and The Chi and who has a court date scheduled for Tuesday, July 23.

On June 21, 2019 at approximately 12:02 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted near the Washington Baum Bridge in Manteo.  During this traffic stop, a K-9 alerted on the vehicle for the odor of a controlled substance and a search was conducted.  Inside a purse in the vehicle an amount of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana drug paraphernalia were located.  The driver of the vehicle was issued citations for expired registration and driving with a revoked license and released.

The passenger, Sonja Denise Plack, 55, was arrested for felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia, and given a $1,500 secured bond.  Plack was able to make bond and was released at the Dare County Detention Center.  Assisting in the traffic stop were Nags Head Police Department, Manteo Police Department and U.S. Fish and Wildlife.

This project will be bid and awarded in accordance with North Carolina law. Sealed proposals from Contractors will be received until 1:00 p.m. All bidders must submit for prequalification by 2:00pm on 1/24/2020. Bids submitted by non-prequalified bidders will not be considered. All bids will be opened and read aloud starting at 2:00 p.m. of the bid day. Bids must be delivered in person and on the supplied Bid Form and include a bid deposit worth 5% of the total bid value. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted or reviewed. All times are local prevailing times.

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and Dare County reserve the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County. The Whiting Turner Contracting Company and Dare County also reserve the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129.

    Of course I’m all for people being busted for cocaine possession and so on, but why were only this actress’s name and mugshot made public? The other person, the driver, remains anonymous. Where are the driver’s name and mugshot? Is this because Sohn is apparently somewhat famous because of her show business connection? Somehow this doesn’t sit right with me.

    Agree with Liz. Quick to put her mugshot out there but the idiot who was driving with a gun in his hand when it went off in the brewing station parking lot doesnt have a single photo… come on voice do better.
