This is the latest update on the weekend storm, issued early on the morning of Friday, Oct. 16 by the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City. Not any significant changes in the forecast, with the exception of the mention of tornadoes.
Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 will quickly move up the Southeast coast Saturday night into Sunday. Heavy rainfall of 2-4 inches is possible, as are coastal flooding impacts, gusty winds, especially along the coast, and gale-force winds over the waters. Cannot rule out possible tornadoes.
