Book signing | December 14 from 11am to 1pm
Downtown Books, 105 Sir Walter Raleigh Street, Downtown Manteo
Do you remember the story of the little kitten who was thrown from a speeding car off the Manns Harbor Bridge in May 2017? He was rescued by three NCDOT divers and ultimately went home with one of them.
Named Bridger Catfish Newman, he soon had his own Facebook page and following. Now he has his own book- Bridger– by Roanoke Island resident and author Jeremy Bliven with photos by Reece Newman.
This is the true story, and heartwarming tale, of a kitten finding a loving family after a rough start in life. It tells the story from Bridger’s perspective with photos that document his incredible survival.
Jeremy- along with Bridger and his human Reece- will be meeting friends, fans and signing books at Downtown Books on Saturday, December 14 book signing is 11am to 1pm.
Please join us in celebrating this new book- a perfect gift for the holidays!- along with one very special cat. Downtown Books is located at 105 Sir Walter Raleigh Street in Downtown Manteo. Books may be pre-reserved by calling 252-473-1056.

Awwww….and I am not even a cat person, but this story is very heartwarming. To think of the cruelty of throwing a tiny baby animal off a bridge and the creature’s good fortune in being rescued and loved is something to consider this time of year. Anyone who would torment an animal would do the same to a human. Thanks to the Newman family and many happy years ahead for Bridger.
