One shining rite of the Christmas season began on Thanksgiving when the Poulos family Christmas House was illuminated in Kill Devil Hills.
Another sure sign of Christmas was unveiled with the debut of this year’s WinterLights at the Elizabethan Gardens, 1411 National Park Drive in Manteo — an event that runs from Nov. 30 — Jan. 19 in the hours between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The radiant glow of the gardens, traditional holiday décor and fantastical displays are a true spectacle to behold. Festive trees grace the Gatehouse and Reception Hall and a crackling open-air fire warms the Great Lawn. Seasonal gift shop and plant sales coincide.
Adults $11, Youth (ages 6-17) $9, Child (5 and under) $6. A WinterLights Season Pass is $17.00 for adults, $14.00 for youth and $11.00 for a child. For info or details, call 252-473-3234 or visit www.elizabethangardens.org.
Please Note: This event is out of doors and subject to cancellation due to weather. If weather appears threatening, please call ahead or check the website for details: 252-473-3234, elizabethangardens.org.
WinterLights is presented by Southern Bank and supported in part by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.
