First Flight swimmers off to strong start

First Flight’s Men’s and Women’s Swim teams raced to first place finishes against six other area teams in a Nov. 22 meet in Elizabeth City. Leading the way for the Nighthawks was Junior Payton Savage, Senior Erin Bembridge and Junior Bri Wilson all with top place finishes.

Breakthrough performances on the men’s side were Micah Stewart in with an impressive 18 second drop in his 400 free and sophomore Parker Holcomb swimming 9.6 faster in his 100 breast and erasing 3 seconds in his 50 free. Senior Ashby King slashed 11 seconds off her 100 back, and Wilson dropped 4.6 seconds in her 100 Fly and almost 8 seconds in her state cut win.

This puts the Nighthawks Men and Women each undefeated to start off the season. The next meet is Wednesday December 4th at Nags Head YMCA against Currituck and Manteo.
