First Flight High School hosted the Hertford County Bears for a conference showdown on February 8 at the First Flight gym in Kill Devil Hills. It was a match of two good teams vying for first place.

Hertford County would lead for most of the game. The score was 34-41, Hertford County at halftime and 50-57 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Bears’ lead was often double-digits; as soon as the Nighthawks would chip away at the lead, Hertford County would go on another run.

But fortunately for the Nighthawks, the game is 4 quarters. On the back of Dylan Blake and a pressing defense, the Nighthawks would eventually take the lead with over 3 minutes left in the game following a 3-point shot by Isaac Dobie. Blake would score a game high 48 points, 17 points from the free-throw line.
