Man arrested in Powells Point for assault with deadly weapon

On Thursday, Feb. 13, The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office, along with the assistance of the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office, Elizabeth City Police Department, and the U. S. Marshals’ Office, arrested Khyree Dashawn Banks in the 100 block of N. Spot Road in Powells Point.

Banks was arrested without incident and transported to the Currituck County Jail where he was processed with the following outstanding charges:

  • Charge #1 – Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
  • Charge #2 – Felony Discharge a Weapon into an Occupied Dwelling.
  • Charge #3 – (2) Counts of Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
  • Charge #4 – Felony Habitual Felon.
  • Charge #5 – Felony Flee to Elude Arrest.
  • Charge #6 – Felony Parole Violation
  • Charge #7 – Misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property.

Banks was taken to the magistrate and placed under no bond. He is currently being held in Currituck County Jail.
