An emotional sendoff on a journey of hope

Tricia Lawrenson, who was born with cystic fibrosis, departed the Outer Banks on Sunday Feb. 16 with her husband Nathan to head for Durham and Duke Hospital in the hopes of seeking her third life-saving double lung transplant. This heartwarming video was produced by Kill Devil Hills Mayor Ben Sproul, who along with Jacob Stewart, used drones to photograph the crowd lining West Landing Drive as the couple began their trip.

As Sproul noted in in a Facebook post: “Hundreds of friends and well-wishers gathered along West Landing Drive to see them off with love, flower petals, and homemade signs. “

A gofundme page, organized by Rick Lawrenson, will help towards Tricia’s out of pocket medically related costs. You can help by donating here: 65Roses4PattySue
