Who were the greatest heroes of the American coast, routinely risking their lives in the grand maritime rescues? Keeper James Charlet will share the history of the U.S. Life-saving Service from 1871-1915 (now the U.S. Coast Guard) and tales of their heroic rescues right here along the Outer Banks.

Hear this recounting while enjoying a period four course dinner at the No 5 Life-Saving Station located at the Sanderling Resort.
