Today’s coronavirus numbers – March 23

By on March 23, 2020

Updated 8:35a.m., March 23, 2020. (

  • Reported NC cases – 297 (up 42 from yesterday)
  • Reported NC deaths – 0
  • NC county with most cases – Mecklenburg (79)
  • Reported cases in Dare, Currituck and Hyde Counties – 0
  • Completed tests – 8,438

NoteEvery morning, the NC Department of Health and Human Services posts updates on the number of reported cases of coronavirus. That number reflects positive results from all tests, including the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and all hospital and commercial labs. There may be other reports, from the media and elsewhere, that will include different numbers during a given day, but this is an effective way of tracking numbers from the same source on a day-to-day basis.

  • I'm a Prop. Owner not a Voter

Oh I see. Since Dare has no cases yet, the Outer Banks can discriminate who they want and don’t want even if they are non-resident property owners. Non-resident employees can enter and exit at will…resident property owners and non-resident business owners can too. (This is what the voters want by the way) As soon as Dare or maybe even the surrounding counties gets one case then maybe the Outer Banks will get smart and refuse entry to all….not just to visitors (which I agree with btw) and non-resident property owners who are working on their homes (which I don’t agree with). You could have given non-resident property owners a 24 hour notice or the like to come and secure their properties and handle any lingering business but you didn’t since they are not voters! This is all political because if you were serious about containment, you would be much bolder and actually close up the island! Its the voters that matter, right?
