Many residents may be at risk of losing their home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) has a helpful guide, “Protect Your Investment: A Guide for At Risk Homeowners” now available for anyone with concerns about losing their home.
The guide, available for all homeowners, was created by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and the REALTOR® Party. It addresses several ways a homeowner can protect their investment including talking to a lender, investment counseling, understanding what options there are, and how a REALTOR® can be an asset during the process.
Watch Out For Scams and Unfavorable Loan Terms
Please keep in mind that scammers are always looking for new ways to steal people’s hard-earned money—especially now when people are more likely to ignore warning signs due to desperation. “Protect Your Investment: A Guide for At Risk Homeowners” lists the warning signs that homeowners should look for when searching for solutions.
For details about how lenders, bank regulators, and federal agencies are working to help homeowners protect their investment visit www.nar.realtor/coronavirus. And remember—this is for all homeowners, not just REALTORS®.
