First round of Dare drive-thru COVID-19 tests show no positive results

A total of 178 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Tuesday, May 26 during the drive thru testing event. As of 4:15 p.m. today (May 29), we have received results back on 171 of the specimens. Of the 171 specimens, 169 were negative and 2 were deemed invalid. The invalid specimens were determined to be inadequate for testing and those individuals have been contacted to be retested. We expect to receive the results for the 7 outstanding tests later today or tomorrow.

Hyde County residents eligible for June 2 drive-thru test

A total of 363 appointments are still available for the drive-thru testing event on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Soundside Event Site in Nags Head. Given the large number of appointment availability, the drive-thru testing event is now being offered for permanent residents of Dare and Hyde Counties, ages 10 and older.     Curious as to when local Dr. offices will quit telling patients that if their symptoms are mild to moderate that they don’t need a test they need to just stay home.

    Ok great news the Croatan Transplant tribe doesn’t need to stock up on four legged Spanish dog meat they are all good . No virus detected . Stay Home Stay Safe . Don’t come out until Nov 2022!!!!

    Susan the whole testing process has been disturbing here on the outer banks. It’s obvious why. Just unfortunate though. Yes they need to test more. Way more.

    Well, it has not been that long since everything opened up–with the lack of social distancing and masks being used I believe we will see significant increases by mid-June.
