On the evening of June 27, Dare County reported 2 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases reported since the pandemic began to 79. The two new cases involve two female residents of Dare County between that ages of 25-49, and they are isolating at home. With 33 new cases reported in the last week, officials have said that Dare County is now experiencing community-wide spread of COVID-19.
In recent days, an increasing number of younger people have been infected with the virus. And of the 79 Dare County cases to date, 49 have involved people under the age of 50 and 30 have involved people who are 50 and older.
