Dare sees daily record with 14 COVID-19 cases

Dare County has reported its highest number of new daily COVID-19 cases (14) on Sunday, June 28. That brings the total number of cases in the county to 93 since the pandemic. Reflecting the recent surge of infections here, 47 cases — half of the total number— have been reported in the past eight days.

Of today’s new cases, only one individual was a non-resident of Dare County and she was transferred to her own county. The other 13 are Dare County residents, six males and seven females. Nine of the 13 county residents are younger than 25 years of age, continuing another trend that has seen young people bearing the brunt of new of COVID-19 infections. All of the Dare County residents are reported to be isolating at home.
