The Hyde County Health Department announced on July 29 that the COVID-19 mass testing event scheduled for Thursday, July 30 on Ocracoke Island has been cancelled. The cancellation came after MakoMedical Laboratories, Inc. reported that it had a staffing issue for the event. At this time, a make-up date is being negotiated. As soon as that date and plans are finalized, a press release will be issued informing the public of the new mass testing event date, time, and location.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, this situation is beyond Health Department control. As of July 29, there have been 36 reported cases of COVID-19 in Hyde County.
