The Kill Devil Hills Police have announced that the suspect in an Aug 9 shooting in that town peacefully turned himself into authorities on the afternoon of Aug.12. He was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
Isaias E. DePaul, 24, of Kill Devil Hills was transported to the Dare County Detention Center and placed under a $20,000 secured bond. DePaul had evaded capture since the shooting incident in the 300 block of W. 3rd Street in Kill Devil Hills, one in which the victim was shot in the leg. Yesterday, Kill Devil Hills Police posted a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest of DePaul
In its statement announcing the arrest, The Kill Devil Hills Police Department offered its thanks to the Nags Head Police Department, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office and the NC SBI Fugitive and Missing Person Task Force who were instrumental in the search for Mr. DePaul, which helped bring pressure on Mr. DePaul to surrender himself.
