Dare County reported only 1 new case of COVID-19 on Aug. 13, marking the second day in a row when there has only been a single case and the fifth day out of the last 12 with just one case reported. The newest case brings the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 386.
The individual reported infected on Aug. 13 is a non-resident between the ages of 50-64 who is isolating in Dare County. The county also announced that one local resident who had been hospitalized with COVID-19 has been released and is now isolating at home.
Hyde County, which reported 4 new cases in the past day, now has reported a total of 52 cases to date. In a post on its Facebook page, the Hyde County Health Department also said the county currently has 15 active cases, with 37 recoveries and no fatalities.
