Last week, the Voice reported on the progress on the new $4.5 million Dare County Animal Shelter on Roanoke Island, which is expected to be completed around April 1. The 8,727-square-foot shelter, located on Airport Road, will have features that include roll-up doors to provide fresh air for the animals, open space and pea gravel in exercise areas.

Now, the SPCA is asking residents to participate in a “Brick by Brick” fundraiser to help equip that new shelter by literally purchasing a brick for the new facility.

The purchase of each brick will assist the funding of acquiring all of the necessary equipment and materials to ensure the new facility meets the needs of each and every animal that comes through the door.  And by purchasing a brick for yourself or someone else, a lasting legacy of your generous donation will be displayed in front of the new Dare County Animal Shelter.

Each brick will sell for $100, and it will be displayed within the sidewalk in front of the new building.

This is a great opportunity to purchase a gift for a birthday, Christmas, or to commemorate a loved one or fur-child that has passed. Your business can donate a brick and you will be able to upload your business logo when you are personalizing your brick in the order process for an additional cost of $15.

For more information and to purchase a Brick, visit our web page on the “That’s My Brick!” website here. Copy the link and share the Fundraiser with all your friends: https://www.thatsmybrick.com/obxspca.  All major credit cards are accepted, as well as, personal checks.
