It’s par for the course for Schuster

Update: Kat finished with a final round 72 to finish one over par for the tournament. What a terrific accomplishment.

Another milestone for Kill Devil Hills Katherine Schuster, the Kill Devil Hills and First Flight High School phenom who, among other things, has captured three straight Women’s 1A/2A State High School Championship Golf Championships.

By shooting an even par 142 through two rounds, Schuster has made her first cut at a professional tournament, the IOA Classic being held at the Alaqua Country in Longwood Florida this weekend.  As you peruse the scores of the golfers in the tournament, one small item stands out. She is the only competitor in the event with the letter “a” — for amateur — next to her name.
