College of The Albemarleā€™s (COA) Alumni Association is kicking off a membership drive and online fundraiser in honor of the Collegeā€™s 60th anniversary.

As part of the celebration, COA alumni can sign up to become a life-time member of the Alumni Assocation for only $60, (normally $100). To help increase the number of members in the association, the COA alum who refers the most alumni to join the association from now through December 4, will win a Will Package donated by Hornthal, Riley, Ellis & Maland law firm, (a $600 value). Visit www.albemarle.edu/alumni to join and to see the benefits of becoming a member of the association. Alumni who receive a referral to join should include the fellow alumniā€™s name in the ā€œReferred byā€ space on the membership form.

The Alumni Association is also launching a raffle for a chance to win a one-week stay in the Outer Banks. ā€œOver The Duneā€ is a gorgeous, 3,000 square-foot, six-bedroom home, located on the beach road in Kitty Hawk. Raffle tickets will be sold for $50 each and only 150 tickets will be sold. The winner of the raffle can choose their week to stay between March 15 – April 15, 2021 (based on availability). The drawing will be held on Friday, December 4. To check out the cottage and to purchase a raffle ticket, visit www.albemarle.edu/alumni-drive. This raffle is open to the entire community so be sure to share it with your friends and family!

Proceeds raised will benefit COA Cares, an initiative that helps students who may be struggling with unexpected financial burdens that could hinder their program completion. COA Cares was designed to help students get through unforeseen circumstances, providing gas cards, food and interview-appropriate clothing, allowing them to reallocate their own funds to focus on completing their education.
