Closures possible as NC12 gets its close-up

By on November 16, 2020

The Outer Banks is “going Hollywood” tomorrow for the filming of a General Motors car commercial along N.C. Highway 12. Very brief road closures of three minutes or less are possible Tuesday Nov. 17 on Highway 12 as the Anne Towers Production Company of Los Angeles shoots the ad on the scenic byway.

Filming will take place between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. in locations including the Marc Basnight Bridge and other areas between Oregon Inlet and Hatteras Village. Filmmakers have been advised to minimize road closures during heavy travel times around 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Traffic control for the event will be provided by the Dare County Sheriff’s Department and/or the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Wonder if they’ll show a Caddy mired up to the door in sand . 🙂

Just what we need! More tourism advertising for an already overpopulated island with little support structure for year round residents that’s doomed to be eaten up by the ocean in a couple decades, if we’re that lucky anyways

Hey Exhausted, 1) most will never know where the future commercial will be filmed…so you are safe from hordes of GM cars 2) you attitude must be flaring your ulcers and 3) really? Be a solution, not an additional problem.
