Dare County Public Works 2021 New Year’s Trash Collection Schedule

Dare County Public Works, which provides trash collection for the unincorporated areas of the county and the Town of Kitty Hawk, has announced a revised collection schedule.

Residential Trash Collection for the week of Dec. 28, 2020, through Jan. 1, 2021, will be as follows:

  • Monday, Dec. 28: Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras
  • Tuesday, Dec. 29: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
  • Wednesday, Dec. 30: Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras
  • Thursday, Dec. 31: Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
  • Friday, Jan. 1: CLOSED, NO TRASH COLLECTION – Happy New Year!
Commercial Trash Collection will take place on Monday, Dec. 28 and Thursday, Dec. 31.

The Dare County C&D Landfill, Buxton Transfer Station and Manteo Recycle Yard will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, in observance of New Year’s Day.

In addition, all Dare County offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, in observance of New Year’s Day.

On 5/27/2010 Edge Spectrum, Inc was granted a license by the FCC to serve the public interest in BUXTON, NC as a public trustee of WHOB-LD until 12/1/2020 when it expires. WHOB-LD Channel 50 filed an FCC renewal application for our 2.5 kW station transmitting from BUXTON, NC and serving the BUXTON area on 8/3/2020. Individuals who wish to advise the FCC of facts relating to our renewal application and to whether this station has operated in the public interest should file comments and petitions with the FCC.
