The Outer Banks Hospital posted this update on their first Bamlanivimab infusion treatment for COVID-19 on their Facebook page.

The Outer Banks Hospital Registered Nursing team, Anne McCann, Jessica Dalke, and Katie Fertal prepare for the hospital’s first Bamlanivimab infusion. Bamlanivimab is the FDA emergency use authorized (EUA) monoclonal antibody for the outpatient treatment COVID-19 symptoms. The goal of this infusion is to reduce severity of illness and length of COVID symptoms, which could also prevent hospitalizations. Patients with positive COVID results who are 12 years of age and older and weighing at least 88 pounds and are at high risk for progressing to severe COVID-19 illness may meet criteria for this infusion.
