Record high 75 COVID cases in Dare County

The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services reported a record-high 75 cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 10, eclipsing the previous record of 73, which had just been set on Jan. 2. That brings the total number of positive tests reported by the county since the outset of the pandemic past the 2,000 mark — to 2,062. The new reporting also brings the number of current active cases among Dare County residents up to 289. 

North Carolina

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported 8,833 new cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 10. In addition, 142 more COVID-related deaths have been reported since the previous day. The number of hospitalizations dropped for the second straight day – down 97 from Jan. 9. And the daily percentage of positive test results fell to 13.7% on Jan. 9.
