A positive update on Tatum Love

By on February 5, 2021

We know many people in our community are keeping Tatum Love and her family in their thoughts and hearts, so we are passing on a brief update about the condition of the First Flight junior who was hospitalized with serious injuries after a Jan. 26 car accident.

The account, posted to the Caring Bridge site by Fiona McKenna on the morning of Feb. 5, stated that “a lot of things went right over the last 24 hours.” Tatum was reported to have opened her eyes and been “clearly tracking [things]…going on around her.” The account noted that she has been moved out of the ICU into a step down/transitional unit to start the transition into rehab.

“We obviously have a long road ahead, but hard things take a long time…really hard things take a little longer,” Fiona wrote. “The love and support continue to both inspire and lift us up when times get tough. Words cannot explain how grateful we are for all of it.”

What great news to all of us here in Dare County. The power of prayer and participation of so many dedicated people show what can be accomplished. A positive step indeed!
