The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services has reported 4 new COVID-19 cases on Feb. 19. It also announced that one county resident who had been hospitalized has succumbed to the virus. That makes for 13 COVID-related deaths since the outset of the outbreak in March.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID dashboard tallies the number of vaccinations issued as of Feb. 18 by age groups within counties, specifically the percentage of people in each age group who have received the vaccine. The numbers do not include doses administered in long-term care facilities through a federal program conducted in conjunction with CVS and Walgreens. Here are the numbers of first doses administered in Dare County, according to NCDHHS data.
Note: Every morning, the NC Department of Health and Human Services posts updates the number of reported cases of coronavirus. That number reflects positive results from all tests, including the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and all hospital and commercial labs. There may be other reports, from the media and elsewhere, that will include different numbers during a given day, but this is an effective way of tracking numbers from the same source on a day-to-day basis.
