10% in Dare County have gotten second vaccine dose

The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services reported 3 cases of COVID-19 on Feb. 20. That comes on the heels of only 4 cases being reported the day before.

On Feb. 19, the Voice published the data from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services dashboard that indicated the percentage of people by age group who had received their first dose of vaccine in Dare County. Today, we report numbers for people who have received their second, and final dose, of COVID vaccine in Dare County.

  • Percentage of those between 18-24 who have received second dose – 2.41%
  • Percentage of those between 25-49 who have received second dose – 8.29%
  • Percentage of those between 50-64 who have received second dose – 8.01%%
  • Percentage of those between 65-74 who have received second dose – 17.82%%
  • Percentage of those 75 and older who have received second dose – 40.48%
  • Percentage of total population who have received second dose – 10.2%

Today’s statewide NC coronavirus numbers

  • Total reported NC cases – 840,096
  • New cases reported today – 3,446
  • Reported deaths – 10,896 (76 since yesterday)
  • Currently hospitalized – 1,708 (72 fewer than yesterday)
  • Suspected COVID-19 cases hospitalized in past 24 hours – 170 (down 21 from yesterday)
  • Confirmed COVID-19 case hospitalized in past 24 hours – 167 (down 17 from yesterday)  
  • Adults in ICU with COVID-19 – 409 (down 2 since yesterday)
  • Patients presumed to be recovered – 765,456
  • Reported cases in Dare, Currituck and Hyde Counties – 4,708 (Dare 2,748, Currituck 1,327, Hyde 633)
  • Completed tests – 9,881,060
  • Daily percent positive tests – 5.7%
  • Vaccine doses administered – 1,997,342
