Island Farm is open for its 2021 season! A living history farmstead, Island Farm interprets the life of early Outer Bankers from the mid-1800s when just over 400 people inhabited Roanoke Island. Visitors can expect a warm welcome to spring with live blacksmithing, self-guided house tours, cooking demonstrations, and of course – plenty of farm animals to see. Younger guests will find a large offering of toys and games, including everything from hoop and stick, quoits, and tug of war. Island Farm continues its safety practices and extensive cleaning protocols to ensure staff and visitor safety.
Admission to the site is $8, and children 3 and under are admitted for free. Island Farm will be open April through November, Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., where programming and activities will vary throughout the season. The farmstead is located at 1140 N US Highway 64, north of Manteo on Roanoke Island. For more information, visit www.obcinc.org, email email@example.com or call 252-473-6500.
