The Manteo High School boys’ soccer team advanced to the second round of the state playoffs with a 2-0 victory in the first round against Falls Lake on March 16.  Manteo played another strong defensive game, limiting Falls Lake to almost no scoring opportunities.  Seniors Noah Goetsch and Andrew Hayman each scored a goal in the win. Manteo finished the match with 29 shots with 12 of those shots on goal.  MHS will host a second-round matchup against the winner of the Hobbton and East Wake Academy match on March 18.

The boys’ soccer squads from Cape Hatteras Secondary School and First Flight High School had their March 16 first-round games switched to March 17.
