Two years after a fire destroyed the popular store that has been a part of the Outer Banks since 1987, the Christmas Mouse is opening its doors again. Here’s the message posted this afternoon on its Facebook page.
“We’re happy to announce that our rebuilt Nags Head store is now open! We will be open from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Starting March 26th, we will be open 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM. You can visit us at 2401 South Croatan Highway Nags Head, NC 27959. We look forward to seeing you soon!”
In an interview with the Voice last summer, Rob Marshall, whose family owns the chain of eight Christmas Mouse stores, talked about what the new Nags Head store would look like after the rebuild.
“It’s gonna be a nice visual from the outside,” he said. “There’s a lot of windows on the front side and the south side there, too. That will be great to light up the building as well.”
“It’s going to look a lot better,” Marshall added. “I’m not sure the result of that [the fire] was what I was looking for, but it is going to look a lot better. There is something positive to come out of it.”
