Dare County Public Works announces 2021 Good Friday Holiday Trash Collection Schedule

Dare County Public Works, which provides trash collection for the unincorporated areas of the county as well as the Town of Kitty Hawk, has announced a revised collection schedule in observance of the Good Friday holiday on April 2, 2021.

Residential trash collection for the week of March 29 through April 2 will take place as follows:  

• Monday, March 29 – Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras
• Tuesday, March 30 – Manteo, Wanchese, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Manns Harbor, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
• Wednesday, March 31 – Kitty Hawk, Colington, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras
• Thursday, April 1 ‐ Manteo, Wanchese, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Manns Harbor, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon
• Friday, April 2 – CLOSED. NO TRASH COLLECTION.

Commercial dumpsters will be picked up on Monday, March 29 and Thursday, April 1.

The Dare County C&D Landfill, Buxton Transfer Station and Manteo Recycle Yard will be closed on Friday, April 2, 2021, in observance of Good Friday.  

In addition, all Dare County offices will be closed on Friday, April 2, 2021, in observance of Good Friday. Dare County offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday April 5, 2021. For more information, visit www.DareNC.com.
