First Flight Seahawks football hosted the Perquimans Tigers in their season opening game at the Warren C. Judge III Field in Kill Devil Hills on March 31. First Flight started strong by intercepting a Perquimans errant pass in the backfield for a touchdown. The two teams traded scores and were evenly match during the first half with a score of 22-22 at the break.

Things changed quickly however during the third quarter as Perquimans scored 20 points in less than 5 minutes off of First Flight kickoff miscues. First Flight continued to battle and would add another 16 points from several key running plays.
