There are currently 43 active cases among Dare County residents, there are no county residents currently hospitalized with the virus and 14 residents have succumbed to the virus since the beginning of the pandemic last year.
One number worth noting in the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ April 7 report of state COVID data is that hospitalizations from to the virus have now increased to 1,025. Until recent days, hospitalizations in the state had been steadily decreasing and in the last week in March, they actually dipped under the 900 mark.
Note: Every morning, the NC Department of Health and Human Services posts updates the number of reported cases of coronavirus. That number reflects positive results from all tests, including the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and all hospital and commercial labs. There may be other reports, from the media and elsewhere, that will include different numbers during a given day, but this is an effective way of tracking numbers from the same source on a day-to-day basis.
