5 cases reported in Dare County

The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) reported 5 cases of COVID-19 on April 9, marking the eighth straight day when 5 or fewer cases have been reported. At the same time, however, the DHHS reported that 2 Dare County residents with the virus have now been hospitalized.

Hyde County

The Hyde County Health Department reported on April 9 that there are currently 18 active cases of COVID in the county compared to none at the end of March. There have been 662 reported cases in the county since the outset of the pandemic in March 2020, including 8 deaths. A total of 636 individuals are considered recovered.

  • Adults in ICU with COVID-19 – 243 (12 less than yesterday)
  • Patients presumed to be recovered – 887,724
  • Reported cases in Dare, Currituck and Hyde Counties – 5,148 (Dare 3,011,Currituck 1,475, Hyde 662)
  • Completed tests – 11,641,898
  • Daily percent positive tests – 4.6%
  • Vaccine doses administered – 5,624,683
