The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) reported 5 cases of COVID-19 on April 9, marking the eighth straight day when 5 or fewer cases have been reported. At the same time, however, the DHHS reported that 2 Dare County residents with the virus have now been hospitalized.
The Hyde County Health Department reported on April 9 that there are currently 18 active cases of COVID in the county compared to none at the end of March. There have been 662 reported cases in the county since the outset of the pandemic in March 2020, including 8 deaths. A total of 636 individuals are considered recovered.
Note: Every morning, the NC Department of Health and Human Services posts updates the number of reported cases of coronavirus. That number reflects positive results from all tests, including the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and all hospital and commercial labs. There may be other reports, from the media and elsewhere, that will include different numbers during a given day, but this is an effective way of tracking numbers from the same source on a day-to-day basis.
