Dare Libraries begin to reopen April 19

We are pleased to announce that the Dare County Libraries will be reopening our buildings for browsing, borrowing and some other services beginning Monday, April 19, 2021. In-library services will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm.

For our customers that prefer our convenient and popular curbside services, they will continue to be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 5:00 pm.

  • We will welcome you back inside the libraries on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with several limits and reminders:
  • As per the Governor’s Executive Order face masks will be required.
  • We will remind everyone to please social distance.
  • We are requesting all users to please limit their library visits to 30 minutes or less.
  • Computer users will be limited to one single computer session per day.
  • There will be very limited seating available.
  • For library locations with meeting rooms, there will still be no meeting room use at this time.
  • No in-person library programs at this time.

Curbside services, which have been extremely popular, will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 5 pm with no indoor services on these days.
