Do you know what the last Saturday in April is? It’s Independent Bookstore Day, a one-day national party taking place at indie bookstores across the country! IBD started in 2014 in California and is a one-day celebration of books, readers and indie bookselling and you can help celebrate the day at Downtown Books in Manteo! They will be celebrating with special IBD merchandise- Baby Yoda onesies, exclusive signed editions and literary gift items you won’t find anywhere else on any other day! They will also be giving away free Dog Man and Pete the Cat masks to the first forty kids, have lots of free merch for adults plus gifts with purchase like tote bags and free Libro.fm audiobooks with a $15 in-store purchase!
There’s also a Story Walk for young readers that lets them follow the pages of a best-selling picture book as they enjoy a stroll around town, the roll-out of our expanded Blind Date Book program and a used book sale- buy two get one free! Please join Downtown Books from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, April 24, to celebrate all the many things that make them and every independent bookstore in the country so very extra special.
