Enjoy a rare opportunity to see the best surfers on the East Coast compete in the Mid-Atlantic Surfing Regionals. The action goes down at the beach next to Jennette’s Pier, where the waves provide the perfect playground for the country’s top surfers to compete. Eleven time world professional surfing champion Kelly Slater and former world professional women’s surfing champion Lisa Anderson both learned their competitive skills through the Eastern Surfing Association.
Spectators are welcome to spread out a beach towel or pull up a beach chair along the sand, and watch the incredible skill and talent which will take place along the waves. There are multiple days of competition, and visitors are welcome to cheer on their favorites in the competitive but fun coastal environment. (People are also welcome to take a stroll along the pier itself, which will provide an aerial vantage point of the competition.) A true display of incredible surfing, this event is a show that simply can’t be missed during a spring OBX getaway.

The Eastern Surfing Association, ESA, is the largest amateur surfing association in the world. Our family oriented programs promote a healthy and active lifestyle. It is not uncommon to find two or three generations of the same family involved as members of the ESA, and actively competing in our program.
