Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP) is excited to announce their upcoming KidsFest Adventure, running from May 7-17, 2021. This free self-guided activity hunt will be an opportunity for families with young children to participate in fun activities all over the Outer Banks, while also connecting with community organizations and businesses in a safe socially-distanced way.

Modified from CYP’s Annual in-person KidsFest event, CYP’s KidsFest Adventure will provide an adventure guide (hard copies will be available in addition to an online version at that will list dozens of fun activities for young children throughout Dare County. Some of the activities will be self-guided, while some will be on-site at local organizations and businesses.

On-site activities available on various days throughout the event (May 7-17) include scavenger hunts at places like the Coastal Studies Institute, a character hunt at the Dare County Libraries, exploring patrol cars at local police departments, a Pirate’s Adventure hosted by the Outer Banks Woman’s Club, and much more!

As families complete activities from May 7-17, they will check them off their adventure guide. Then, following the final day on May 17, families who have completed at least five activities can submit their activity guide to CYP (by May 20) to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win an exciting grand prize package of gift cards and merchandise.

CYP hopes that this KidsFest Adventure will tap into the spirit of community that CYP’s traditional KidsFest event has provided for over a decade, helping families get outside to enjoy the outdoors together while also connecting to the Dare County community.
