Nags Head officer honored for lifesaving actions

The Nags Head Police Department posted on its Facebook page today news of the honor bestowed upon of its quick-acting officers.

“At this morning’s (May 5) Board of Commissioners meeting, our own K9 Officer, Matt Huntingford, was presented the Life Saving Award. On March 29, Senior Police Officer Huntingford responded to a call for a report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, Officer Huntingford evaluated the patient and began CPR. He continued until relieved by EMS. The patient was subsequently flown to Norfolk General Hospital. During the flight to Norfolk, it was reported that the patient regained consciousness. It is through Officer Huntingford’s timely lifesaving action that the patient was able to receive further medical care. Officer Huntingford’s actions have not gone unnoticed and are in keeping with the highest standards of the Nags Head Police Department. Congratulations Matt!”
