The Nags Head Police Department is asking residents, non-resident property owners and visitors to help the department fashion a 5-year strategic plan by filling out a public safety survey here.

The six-section 42-question, multiple-choice survey is quite detailed, asking respondents to rate the seriousness of crime-related problems; indicate what practices might help the department in its mission; identify the degree to which certain factors have contributed to crime in the town; assess their own sense of security; evaluate the performance of Nags Head Police officers; and finally answer some open-ended questions that include suggestions for improvements on the force.
