Nags Head Fire and Rescue posted this information about a June 2 morning fire on its Facebook page.

This morning, our crews responded to a structure fire on Memorial Avenue. Although not seen in the photos the crews arrived to find an active fire in the rear of the home. The occupants who were sleeping at the time escaped unharmed.

Thank you to our partners from Colington And Kill Devil Hills Fire Departments, Dare County, EMS, and to our very own Nags Head Police Officers and Dare County Sheriff’s Officers who assisted the occupants in getting out prior to our arrival. Thanks Chaplain Rick Lawrenson for the photo.
