Summer Refuge Programs Begin

Pea Island and Alligator River National Wildlife Refuges

Alligator River and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuges annual summer guided interpretive and educational programs begin Tuesday, June 15. A variety of programs will follow a set schedule through August. Visit their website to see what day and time programs are held. There are canoe tours, turtle talks, open-air tram tours, and more. Call 252-216-9464 for program details or visit their website for a list of programs. Don’t forget to visit Pea Island Refuge visitor center, open 7 days a week 9am-4pm and National Wildlife Refuges Visitor Center on Roanoke Island, 9am-4pm Monday-Saturday and noon to 4pm Sunday.
