On June 13, there is a high rip current risk at the beaches of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Pea Island, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton. Ocean swimming is not recommended, obey red flags and stay out of the water! Red flags are up today.
LOW rip current risk south of Cape Hatteras including Frisco, Hatteras Village, & Ocracoke. While the risk for rip currents is low, life-threatening rip currents may still be present. Remember low risk does not mean no risk!
Strongest rip currents often occur a couple hours either side of low tide, which is around 3:55 pm today.
Partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies today. Temperatures in the upper 70s with northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.
