Dare, Hyde counties announce weather-related school cancellations

Dare County Dare County Superintendent of Schools John Farrelly has emailed school families to alert them about a few weather-related cancellations on Monday, June 21.  Due to the possibility of increased weather concerns from Tropical Storm Claudette, the DCS Summer Program, Facilities, and Meal Delivery Program will be closed on that date.

Hyde County The Hyde County Schools also have issued this notice about Monday cancellations. A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for all of Hyde County this afternoon through the day on Monday. Tropical Depression Claudette is predicted to re-strengthen over land as it begins to cross eastern North Carolina. All Hyde County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, June 21st, including the 21st Century Program and Central Office.
