Coast Guard aids disabled boat near Hatteras Inlet

The U.S. Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet has posted this information on its Facebook page about a Friday, Oct. 15 rescue of a disabled vessel.

“At 1637 (4:37 p.m.), vessel Roe Boat with 2 people on board, reported a hydraulic leak and loss of steering approximately 16 NM Southeast of Hatteras Inlet. Commercial salvage was unable to respond, and a Marine Assistance Request Broadcast was made with no response.

At 1715, CG47308 got underway and arrived on scene at 1848. After assessing conditions, CG47308 placed the Roe Boat in a stern tow and began making way back to Hatteras. Roe Boat was safely moored in Teach’s Lair at 2123.”
